Screenplays & Stageplays

Rudy (Stage & Screenplay)
Based on Bret's best-selling biography, "Valentino, A Dream Of Desire". A drama which alternates between Europe and the United States between 1900-26. Here, the World's Greatest Lover is interested only in men and finds only heartbreak and disaster with his two wives.

Our George (Stage & Screenplay)
Based on Bret's best-selling biography, "George Formby, A Troubled Genius". Here we have Formby torn between the women in his life--his domineering wife, his foul-mouthed mother, and the leading ladies he seduced. All the controversial elements of the book have been incorporated into the scenario.

Chanson (Stageplay)
The story of the famous French singer, Marcel, who had an illicit and ultimately doomed love affair with a German lieutenant during the Nazi Occupation of Paris. Contains original and classic songs of the period.

Gracie (Stageplay)
The story of the tetchy relationship between Gracie Fields and her stepdaughter, who meet for the last time and reflect over Gracie's hugely successful but turbulent career. Original songs.
Miss & Harry (Stageplay)
The story of French music-hall legend Mistinguett and the great love of her life, American-Hungarian dancer Harry Pilcer. Based on Bret's biography. The other characters include gangster's moll, Manouche, and singer Georges Guetary at the period in his life when he sold himself for sex.
